City of Deerfield Beach"We have hard-number evidence of the positive impact of the Driver’s Alert safety initiative – a significant decline in the number of accidents, a lessening of the severity of those accidents, and a noticeable decline in the property damage associated with the accidents that did occur. However, I don’t think that we should stop there.

While less susceptible to evidence, the accidents, personal injuries, and property losses that have been prevented or avoided because of the Driver’s Alert initiative are equally as important. Because the program has worked so well, City drivers have become more aware of, and are much more sensitized to, the requirements of safe and responsible driving, both on and off the City’s clock.

While there’s no hard numbers in support of our belief, there’s absolutely no reason to doubt that the Driver’s Alert initiative has made City drivers more conscious of and conscientious about their driving, and that accidents, personal injuries and property losses have most definitely been prevented or avoided because of the Driver’s Alert initiative."
